As I told all of you before..this blog is a journey. Ever since putting up this blog, I've received tremendous support from friends and family. I'm not receiving orders by the buckload yet but I'm grateful for the few orders here and there. At least I have this out there. Like in any business there has to be a starting point. When I started to worry, hubs said 'You must have confidence, patience and think positive'. I couldn't agree with him more.

Well I've managed to sign up for this week's Wilton Course 1: Basics of Decorating. I already have some basic skills in decorating but in order to learn course 2 :Flowers and Cake design and course 3 Gumpaste and fondant, I need to complete Course 1 first. So this is my receipt all paid for.

I had to delve into my savings and a little help from hubs in order to do this. I thought I may as well use the money for something that I love doing and acquire skills for further income purposes rather than waste it on paying a maid every month. I guess staying home was kind of important for me even though I miss working very much. It just is such a big change from being ambitious, independant, earning a considerable amount of money and ahead in my career to staying home with a small child. I had to sacrifice a lot to be where I am today.

That said I also enjoy my baby like soo much! It really is indescribable. My friends probably think I talk about my baby ALL the time. Well that's because she is my WORK now and being a workaholic I love talking about my best work yet!

So what about this cake business you may ask? Besides being inspired by a lot of people, it is a more of a channel for me to be ME. I've always had an artistic side but never actually acted on it (besides my singing that is :)) I figured this would be the best way to go about it without sacrificing some family time. Plus ever since starting breastfeeding, I LOOOOOOVE cake (perhaps a bit too much actually ! ) I think doing this would make me get sick of it eventually LOL! #betterformydiet

Here I will describe what goes into the Wilton Course One: Decorating Basics. This was what was in the brochure :)
